The Studio Setup

What I will be providing for the silk studio-class experience

I will essentially be bringing the silk painting studio to you.

I can bring enough set-ups for up to 6 people, which includes (per person):

  • 1 Table (approx. 2.5' x 5' long)
  • 1 Protective floor covering (which is a waterproof tarp, approx. 5' x 8' long)
  • 2 Silk frame sets
  • A variety of dye colors to choose from
  • Dye cups
  • Foam and "Sumi" dye brushes
  • Additional supplies corresponding to the different techniques you will be learning

What is needed to "host" the silk studio-class experience

  • A space large enough to accommodate approx. 5' x 8' per person, as each person will have their own table and tarp below it. Garages or backyards work the best, because they are the easiest to clean-up.
  • A source of water (sink, hose, etc.) fairly close to the painting area is also necessary.
  • The host will also need to be able to keep the framed silks protected for approx. 4  hours after the class to allow for safe drying.
  • And finally, the host will need to arrange the re-distribution of the finished silks once I've delivered them back to your house (within 2 days of the class).
