This satisfied student took a picture wearing one of the scarves she created once receiving them back... beautiful! This pre-patterned silk blend scarf is waiting to dry while the next silk scarf is being painted. Individually packaged and ready to be delivered back to the students, these 100% silk scarves were painted with dye and special salts creating organic splashes of color that are gorgeous in both bright and muted color pallets. Candid shot of a 3-student silk painting studio-class using the host's garage. The students are painting their frame-stretched silks on each table, while waterproof tarps cover the floor. A 6-student class was held in the same location prior. | This pre-patterned scarf with fringe was placed in the backyard grass to dry. The silk and rayon blend scarf was painted with only 3 colors of dye, and water. Stretched on its frame and wet with silk dye, this scarf was set out to dry in the backyard while the class worked on their second one. It is a pre-patterned silk and rayon blend, and painted with dye and water. These scarves were previously painted by a class, and have just been steamed, washed, and ironed. 3 different techniques were employed (dye and water, dye with special salts, and applying Resist prior to dying). Silk dyes, foam brushes, spray bottles, bins, and tables are just some of the supplies used during the silk studio experience. ~ More Pictures Coming Soon! ~ |
